Failure to be Fair
It saddens me to think that in 2009, we still suffer people who treat others differently based on race. We don’t hear about, we rarely see it; yet those who are minorities must face it every day. I’ve never understood it and never will. The Virginia Real Estate Board emailed all the real estate schools in Virginia this report, from Home Opportunities Made Easy. It targeted real estate in the Tidewater area.
The results are sad. In the words of VREB Chairperson Carol Clarke "The results are disappointing and definitely show discrimination continues to exist in real estate rentals. As licensees we must do a better job of treating all who come to us for assistance equitably." Here is the full report:
